Who invented elf on the shelf
Elf on the shelf is a book written by Carol Aebersold and her daughter Chanda Bell. According to this book, Santa sends scout elves to each home to know who is naughty or nice. So the elves hide in people’s homes to watch over the events in the house and when everyone is asleep the elves fly back to the North Pole to report all the kid’s activities to Santa. And the elves go back to hide in a new spot before everyone wakes up the next day. And now it is a popular Christmas tradition.

Elf On The Shelf Rules:
Okay, so there are some rules that the kids must abide by for the Elf On The Shelf to work.
- The kids must give the elf a name for it to have the Christmas magic to fly to the North Pole at night and back.
- The kids must not touch the elf or it will lose it magic.
- The elf does not talk or move when the kids are awake, but it listens. So the kids can tell the elf their Christmas wishes so that it can report back to Santa at night.
