Kids love watching holiday-themed movies. And as parents, we don’t want them to watch movies that will give them nightmares. So we selected nonscary Halloween movies for kids with the appropriate age to watch them under the titles.

This is also a great opportunity to spend some quality time with your kids and indulge them in conversations.

1. Cruella (2021)

Appropriate for: 13+

This movie isn’t scary and would be perfect for kids that love fashion. Cruella is a story about a talented fashion designer named Estella that faced some situations that lead her to become Cruella De Vil.


2. A Witches Ball (2018)

Appropriate for: 7+

This movie is based on a book by David Steinberg. In A Witches Ball, Beatrix who has been training to be a witch passed her test. But she has to overcome some obstacles to be inducted as a full-status witch.

3. The Addams Family (2019)

Appropriate for: 7+

A macabre family vs a normal family. Let’s find out who wins.


4. Corpse Bride (2005)

Appropriate for: 13+

Victor accidentally gets married to a skeleton (Corpse Bride) while practicing his vows in the woods close to the church. The Corpse Bride rose and insisted to be his wife and took him to the land of the dead. 

5. Halloweentown (1998)

Appropriate for: 7+

Marnie, Dylan, and Sophie tried to save their mother, grandmother, and all other citizens of Halloweentown from a demon. 


6. Toy Story Of Terror (2014)

Appropriate for: 6+

A great road trip for the toys was cut short when Bonnie( their owner) and her mother had to spend the night at a roadside motel due to a flat tire. Mr. Potatohead goes missing and his friends need to act fast before things head south for them. 

7. Scoob (2020)

Appropriate for: 8+

Scooby-Doo and his gang tried to save the world from “dogpocalyse” and they also discover Scooby-Doo’s secret legacy.


8. The House With A Clock On It’s Walls (2018)

Appropriate for: 11+

 A young orphan named Lewis moved in with his Uncle( Jonathan) in a creaky old house. He finds out that there is a clock in the house counting down to the doom of human existence. Then he, his uncle( Jonathan), and his neighbor (Florence) team up to destroy the clock. 

9. Coco (2017)

Appropriate for: 7+

A young boy named Miguel has a passion for music. But music was banned in his family. He finds himself in the Land of the dead where he met his great-great-grandfather who is a legendary musician. And has to find a way to come back to the Land of the living. 

10. Harry Porter and The Sorcerer’s Stone (2001)

Appropriate for: 7+

A young orphan named Harry Potter discovers he has magical powers and enrolled to study in a magical school (Hogwarts). He made some friends in Hogwarts ( Ron and Hermione). They found out about a stone that can turn any object into Gold. They tried to protect the stone from falling into the wrong hands. 


11. Hocus Pocus (1993)

Appropriate for : 10+

After 300 years a young boy named Max accidentally resurrects three witches on Halloween night. And he has to save all young children from these three witches.  


12. The Witches (2020)

Appropriate for: 10+

A young boy, his grandmother, his friend, and a pet(rat) team up to stop a Grand High Witch from turning all children into rats.


13. Paranorman (2012)

Appropriate for: 10+

Norman Babcock uses his ability to communicate with the dead to save his town.


14. Casper (1995)

Appropriate for: 8+

A wonderful movie for kids. Casper the friendly ghost. 


15. Goosebumps (2015)

Appropriate for: 9+

Jack Black the author of a book teams up with his daughter and teenage neighbor to save the city from monsters that came into life from his book Goosebumps Franchise.


16. Beetlejuice (1988)

Appropriate for: 14+

A young deceased couple tries to scare away a family that moved into their former house. So they seek help from a bio-exorcist named Betelgeuse but pronounced as Beetlejuice who they found hard to control. 


17. Hotel Transylvania (2012)

Appropriate for: 7+

Drac built a resort to protect monsters and his daughter( Mavis) from coming in contact with humans. But a young human boy walked into his hotel one day and Mavis fell in love with him. Making Drac go into overprotective dad mode.

18. Dear Dracula (2012)

Appropriate for: 5+

Sam a monster movie fan decides to write a letter to his favorite vampire (Dracula). To his surprise, Dracula responds and he finds out his favorite vampire has lost his confidence. So he made it his mission to help Dracula gain his confidence back. 


19. Coraline (2009)

Appropriate for: 10+

Coraline discovers a secret door that leads to a better version of her life. But she must overcome some hurdles to go back to her real life. 


20. Alvin and The Chipmunks Meet The Wolfman (2000)

Appropriate for: 5+

Alvin is convinced that their next-door neighbor is a werewolf. But things get strange when Theodore starts acting differently. Then Alvin, Simon, and the Chipettes team up to save him.
